We need a STEM based, after school program that is community focused and more representative of the population that lives in the urban areas of Jersey City, NJ.
We were founded with the intention of creating a more diverse technology platform that focuses on the young urban population of women. Gender, race and income disparity effects the access these women have to programs and services that can teach them skills they need to compete in the hyper competitive job market.
We at Girlz Love Tech believe that exposing young women to STEM in an effective, hands- on manner is a critical step for them to become a future leader in any field. As the world becomes increasingly digitized and globalized, we need to ensure that we do all we can to catapult the next generation into becoming the next visionaries.

During my 15 years of IT experience, I have personally experienced the various hurdles women face in my industry. As a volunteer, I have visited local schools and attended coding workshops while working with the Technology Education and Literacy in Schools (TEALS) Philanthropies program at Microsoft. There, I witnessed the gender gap in computer science and saw the lack of access and exposure to STEM based topics and employment opportunities for these women. As a single mother, I am acutely aware of the day to day challenges women face in the hyper competitive fields found in STEM and I know the singular talents those same women can offer prospective employers. So, I decided to change the narrative and started the nonprofit Girlz Love Tech to reduce the barriers that I have encountered along my journey.
